This session was pure magic. We moved baby A’s newborn session to outdoors due to COVID. She was born during the time where everyone was recommended to stay home and all my sessions were on pause. We finished up her mama’s maternity photos this winter and I had such a great time with this couple, I was really looking forward to having them come back to the studio for newborn portraits. Everything turned out just fine. This outdoor sunset session was absolutely divine and they ended up with a massive gallery of beautiful pictures because I just wasn’t able to narrow them down – they were all that good. We headed over to one of my favourite locations – a stunning rose garden and for this 3 month old baby girl and her parents, it was perfect.
Quite honestly, outdoor might be my new favourite type of newborn session and I will be offering this next summer. Can we say things like that? Is it possible to plan ahead right now? It sure doesn’t feel like it, but I’m going to say it anyway.
Sweet baby A had these big bright eyes and she was very alert, looking all around the garden at the colours and her surroundings. She loved holding her mama and daddy’s hands so I made sure to get a few photos of that for the memory box. The hardest part of newborn sessions lately is not being able to squeeze and snuggle all of these adorable babies.
The outdoor setting made it very easy to keep a safe distance and all these hot summer nights we’ve been getting are perfect for keeping new babies happy and warm. It’s basically like being inside my warm studio. They love it!
