All of the province of Ontario has been in lockdown since late December. This means that newborn and family photographers have not been permitted to work for going on 7 weeks now. Life doesn’t completely pause while on lockdown – babies are still being born and I’m sure a lot of families are worried or concerned that they have missed the window for newborn portraits. I’m sharing this session today to show everyone that we can still get beautiful natural newborn photos at an older age. These photos look a little bit different because this baby is 2 months old, rather than 1-2 weeks old but as you can see, these images look very similar to my studio newborn sessions.
Often, those first few weeks go by in a quick blur and parents write to me thinking that they are too late. Up to 3 months of age, babies usually let me swaddle them for at least few fresh newborn-like images. Older babies bring an extra bit of fun and magic to the session because they are awake and full of great expressions. They are able to make good eye contact once they are a bit older and you’ll be able to see their developing personality.
You can check out some other images examples of babies aged 1 month, 2 months, and 3 months to see.
If you’re looking to capture your baby and they are a bit older than the newborn age, be sure to contact me and we can discuss details and dates. I’m still not permitted to work as of mid-Feb 2021 due to the lockdown, but we are all hoping and praying for some good news next week.
