I was unbelievably excited to return to Ashley + Chris’ Hamilton home to see them again and meet their newborn daughter. About two months ago we did their maternity portraits in a lifestyle setting in their home. I knew it was going to be really special to now capture their joy of having little Julia finally here in those very same spaces. This couple is fun and relaxed and their parenting style is exactly that. We giggled about Julia’s adorable expressions and tried to recreate some of the images we captured in their maternity session so they had some neat before and after shots. They told me the nurses in the hospital referred to Julia as a little rebel so they were a little concerned about whether she’d cooperate for her newborn pictures. But that’s the amazing thing about doing a lifestyle newborn session in your home. It’s ok if they are awake. It’s ok if they fuss a little. We’ll capture it! We’ll take the time to settle baby and cuddle them how and where usually do. It’s really easy-going and not stressful at all. I let the environment and the baby indicate how the session goes and which pictures we take. Every lifestyle newborn gallery is unique and different. It’s part of the reason I love doing them! Oh and Julia… yeah, she rocked her first photo shoot.
Julia is perfect in every way and I hope to visit again and watch her grow over the years. Biggest congratulations to you, Ashley + Chris.
