Newborn sessions are seriously my most favourite. I am in total bliss and am absolutely blessed that I get to call snuggling fresh new babies and creating beautiful images of them a job. This little miss was 10-days old at her studio newborn session recently and although she made me work hard, I still very much enjoyed hanging out with her (no pun intended when you see this first image) and her parents. This new family of three travelled to my Burlington studio and miss Isla must have had a big nap in the car. She was WIDE awake for most her session. We spent a lot of time pulling out all the tricks to get her into a deep sleep, which I’m convinced she never did hit. But, she did close her eyes for a few small moments and thankfully I can work very quickly in a short window of time. I was able to get a very good variety of sleepy images, mixed with a few awake images for her parents as well! This darling family was so patient and wonderful with their new baby girl. Dad ended up having the magic touch in the end as he was able to sway and cuddle his new daughter into a light sleep for me. Isla is for sure a Daddy’s girl from the start. She gave lots of smiles while she was in his arms. I could see their intense connection already!
