Oh this session is so beautiful, I’m so grateful to finally have the time to share them. This family had a bit of an extended stay in the hospital after their baby boy was born earlier this year so they weren’t able to get fresh newborn portraits done in the first couple weeks. Enter my proclaiming my love for older newborn photos here. There are some great benefits in waiting until your baby is a bit older. If you enjoy photos of awake and alert babies with cute and varying expressions, an older newborn session is perfect. This little guy was 3 months old when he visited my Burlington studio – that’s on the upper end to what I consider an “older newborn” but he did great. I was able to swaddle him up for a short time to get some of those cute new baby images but most of the time he was able to be free on his own, doing some tummy time or snuggling with his parents. These photos are proof that gorgeous images can be captured even after the first couple weeks.
