Baby Scarlett came to visit me at my Burlington studio recently, and she was as sweet as a button. With her wispy and wild red hair, I was in love the moment I met her. She was super sleepy, calm and quite relaxed during her studio session. This 14-day old girl was a dream baby. I had fun putting her in lots of girly headbands, simple props and swaddles. She was not a teeny tiny baby, at about 10 lbs she had lots of squishy rolls and oh my goodness she made my day! What a little darling!! Scarlett’s grandma actually contacted me shortly after she was born looking to book a newborn session. Luckily a few of the babies I had scheduled arrived early, opening a spot in my calendar for this newborn girl. Scheduling can be unpredictable, which is why I encourage booking during your second trimester. Once you’re on my calendar it’s fine if baby arrives early or late. I will adjust your session if necessary to get you in within the first 2 weeks for sleepy, squishy and beautiful photos like this. Thankfully it all worked out for this baby girl and her family, but that’s not always the case. I feel badly telling people I don’t have any openings when they don’t realize they should book in advance, before baby is born. It’s rare that I have an open, last minute spot, but it sometimes works out like that so I tell families to email anyway just in case. I have a couple different options for babies over two weeks old anyway, so it’s good to contact me and get to know the different sessions I have.
