My family spent a few weeks travelling this summer and I have blogged about our adventures in a series of blog posts.

Post 3: Our Time in Hilton Head
Every summer since our firstborn was young we have travelled down the east coast. We’ve added to our family and added hours the the drive as well. This summer was our second time visiting South Carolina, not just because it’s gorgeous but also because of the Jones family. Molly and I became friends through ClickinMoms, an online photography group a few years ago and last year we took the leap to meet in person. You can read about last year’s adventure on Molly’s blog.
As you can imagine I took many photos on our trip, I will be posting about our week in Charleston and our week in Hilton Head in a blog series.
The seven kids had a total blast together each and every day. They play together so well, entertaining themselves everywhere we went. With two photographer mamas, you know we were going to attempt a group shot (or two) of all the kids. For the most part we succeeded. My youngest screaming in this first photo makes me love it even more. It’s real. It’s life. It’s funny.
As photographers taking photos of other people’s families sometimes means that our own family gets neglected in the photo department. We try to make up for that during our summer vacation and often it’s easier for Molly to capture shots of my kids and vice versa. Plus, I don’t hate capturing images of her sweet girls in adorable dresses.
We took the kids down to Shem Creek and watched the shrimp boats come in.
One of our photo goals was to get some images of the babies together. They were born just 10 days apart and since Molly and I shared our entire pregnancies together we call them the belly babies.
We visited the Angel Oak Tree and managed to snag a shot of all the kids which is no easy feat. This is a major attraction and is usually swarming with people. We arrived just before closing and lucked out that we were one of the few people there.
Lastly, my favourite thing in South Carolina is the spanish moss hanging off the oak trees. I’m glad we visited Oak Alley at Charles Towne Landing and now have an updated family photo for our home. Thank you, Molly!
Next post will be about our time in downtown Charleston. Eye candy galore, let me tell you….
