It was a bit of a journey to get to this family’s photo session, as it has been with so many families this year. They were booked in for a springtime studio newborn session indoors but then the lockdown hit again and we had to figure something else out. We had done newborn photos in the studio a few years ago for their first son and I was so excited to meet their fresh new second baby boy.
Once I was able to re-open we decided to do a summer outdoor newborn session in July. Well, bad weather hit and we were forced to reschedule our session into August. Baby B was 4 months old when we finally got out for our session, so he was just passed what I would consider a newborn but we still did a few photos in my Moses basket.
The evening we went out had questionable weather as well. We just couldn’t catch a break. We decided to go for it, and right smack in the middle of our session, the winds picked up, the dark clouds rolled in and we all were a little worried that a huge rainstorm was going to dump on us any second. I picked up the pace and captured as many photos, as quickly as I could, all while laughing and praying that the rain would hold off. Thankfully it did and I LOVE the images we captured of this new family of four. The sunflowers were absolutely beautiful and made for a stunning backdrop along with the rustic woods of the barns on this property. Here are a few of my favourite images.
